Graceful shape of this three-dimensional bag is achieved by clever placement of mitered squares and rectangles. Pure fun to knit!
This bag is a perfect piece to show-off striated yarns or/and yarns with long color repeats.
Modular structure of the bag allows you to change the size to your liking.
Size: 16" wide x 13.5" tall not including handles.
Yarn: 300 yards of solid colored yarn and 150 yards of contrast multicolored yarn - both are medium/worsted weight.
Needles: #7US/4.5 needles (any kind) for the body and #6US/4mm circulars and double points for I-cord finishing.
You'll also need about 3 yards of sturdy cord to reinforce the handles and optional piece of fabric for lining.
Average gauge: 4.75 sts/" in garter stitch using needle #7US.
Bottom picture shows same bag after fulling, i.e. slightly felted. Instruction for fulling included as well.
